Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has welcomed the decision of the Calcutta High Court regarding OBC-Muslim reservation. He said that the Constitution of India does not allow reservation to anyone on the basis of religion. The TMC government of West Bengal crossed the pinnacle of political appeasement and gave this reservation to 118 Muslim castes by forcibly including them in OBC in 2010. This policy of politics being followed by the Indi alliance at the cost of the country, this competition should be rejected and exposed. CM Yogi said these things while talking to the media at his official residence on Friday.

He said that Mamata government of West Bengal was forcibly usurping the rights of OBCs. On this unconstitutional act, the Hon’ble High Court has overturned the decision of the TMC government and given a strong slap. This act was unconstitutional, it cannot be allowed. Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar had repeatedly said this in the Constituent Assembly.

He said that reservation was made in India for scheduled castes and tribes and after Mandal Commission keeping in mind the social and economic backwardness of OBCs. The Constitution of India never allows reservation on the basis of religion. Baba Saheb had repeatedly warned the country that the country was divided on the basis of religion and we should not create any such situation which pushes the country towards division.

The Chief Minister said that the decision of the Calcutta High Court is a precedent and that in Karnataka too, the Congress government has encroached upon the rights of OBCs by giving reservation to Muslims and similar mischief was done in Andhra Pradesh as well. It is necessary to strongly oppose all this. Any unconstitutional act that lays the foundation of India’s partition and weakens India should not be accepted at all.
